VFR DEPARTURES:

15L / 15R: After takeoff climb straight ahead for at least one mile prior to any turns.

33 L / 33R: Complete right or left turn after departure prior to HWY 101 Freeway

25: Due to noise sensitive development surrounding the area west of the airport all pilots are requested to use fly quiet procedures for the type of aircraft being operated.

07: After one mile, turn right, exit toward shoreline.

VFR ARRIVALS

15L: Enter the Class C Airspace via HWY 101 Freeway. Remain at or above 1500 feet until 4 miles from Airport (this will be a left base leg entry to traffic pattern).

15R: Enter the Class C Airspace via HWY 101 Freeway or North of El Encanto Heights. Remain at or above 1500 feet until 4 miles from the Airport (this will be a right base leg entry to traffic pattern).

NOTE: To minimize the impact on noise-sensitive areas, pilots are requested to use extra vigilance by flying directly over HWY 101 Freeway unless otherwise instructed by ATC.

25: Turn left base leg offshore. Remain within two miles of Airport.

07: Turn right base leg offshore, between Ellwood and Isla Vista.

VFR QUIET FLIGHT PROCEDURES – HELICOPTERS

Arrive and depart from offshore – DO NOT OVERLY POPULATED AREAS. When stratus offshore prohibits flight, helicopters should remain over HWY 101 Freeway.

VFR OVER FLIGHTS – PRACTICE

Touch & Go: Restricted to piston aircraft. Pleasure and practice flying, including ground reference maneuvers, shall not be conducted below 4,000 feet for turboprop and piston aircraft and 5,000 feet for turbojet aircraft.
