Santa Ynez Airport Day

The 9th annual Airport Day at Kunkle Field – Santa Ynez Airport will be held in just a few weeks on Saturday, May 18, 2024. We’re looking for aviators who would like to participate by displaying their aircraft. For those of you who have already responded, thank you! This is your chance to share the local spirit of aviation with all ages in our community. Our sincere thanks to all who have participated in previous Airport Days.

We are excited about this year’s program and educational exercises, including the hugely popular Young Eagles event. As in years past, we will be awarding flight training scholarships to our local youth. With the tremendous support of our sponsors, we again plan to offer a free hamburger and hot dog barbecue for all who attend, and admission and parking is free. Having a variety of aircraft on display and pilots on hand, are the key to a successful event. We would be delighted if you would participate by displaying your aircraft and share your passion for flying with our visitors. The opportunity to see aircraft up close, and hear stories first-hand, is what brings people back year after year.

It is important that you get back to me as soon as possible so we may organize the display area and have a good idea of how many aircraft we can expect. Please join us in making this an outstanding community event.
